Connecting to the TRON Network

The TRON blockchain can be accessed through Full Node API, Solidity Node API, and Event API endpoints provided by TRON Foundation and third-party providers. Chainlist.org lists verified TRON Mainnet RPC endpoints for connecting Web3 middleware and wallets.

TRON Mainnet Chain ID

TRON's chain ID for EVM-compatible tools is 728126428 (Mainnet). When configuring MetaMask or similar wallets for TRON, you need this chain ID along with a valid RPC URL and the native currency symbol TRX.

TRON Virtual Machine (TVM)

The TRON Virtual Machine executes smart contracts across the network. The TVM is largely compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing most Solidity smart contracts to be deployed on TRON with minimal modification — making TRON attractive for DeFi and dApp developers.

Bandwidth and Energy Resources

TRON uses two resource types: Bandwidth (measures transaction size in bytes) and Energy (measures smart contract computation). If you lack sufficient resources, TRX is burned as a fee instead. Resources are obtained by staking TRX.

DPoS Consensus & Block Time

TRON uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). 27 Super Representatives, elected by TRX holders, produce blocks approximately every 3 seconds. This fast block time makes TRON ideal for high-frequency TRC-20 token transfers and USDT payments.

TRON on MetaMask (2026)

TRON is now natively supported on MetaMask. Update to the latest version and a TRON address will be automatically generated. Trade TRON tokens like USDT and stake TRX directly in MetaMask Mobile. TRON joins Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, and Base in MetaMask's multichain expansion.
